Multiple lane changing refers to moving across two or more lanes in the same direction of travel.
This manoeuvre requires careful observation, accurate judgement, and smooth vehicle control to ensure the safety of all road users.
During a driving test, the examiner will assess your ability to:

• Observe traffic conditions correctly
  
• Use mirrors and blind spot checks effectively
  
• Signal appropriately
  
• Change lanes smoothly and safely
  
• Maintain proper lane discipline and vehicle control
  A multiple lane change must always be performed one lane at a time. Never drift across several lanes in one continuous movement without reassessing traffic conditions before each lane change.

• Check Mirrors, Check the Blind Spot, and Signal
  
• Check the Blind Spot Again
  
• Steer Into the Next Lane When Safe
  
• Position the Vehicle Correctly in the New Lane

Common Mistakes to Avoid


• Crossing several lanes without reassessing traffic
