Detailed Overview - Road Test

Overview
After successfully completing the yard test section of your driving evaluation, you will proceed to the road test portion.
The road test is designed to assess your ability to safely control the vehicle in real traffic conditions while applying the correct K53 driving techniques, observation methods, road rules, and defensive driving principles.

TIME ALLOCATION FOR THE ROAD TEST
Candidates are required to complete the road test within a minimum period of 20 minutes and a maximum period of 45 minutes.
The examiner will use a stopwatch to monitor the duration of the test.

If the test exceeds the maximum time limit:

No additional penalty points will be added once the maximum time has been reached.

However, any action or error that results in an immediate failure can still cause the test to be terminated.

The timing of the road test officially ends only once:

The vehicle has come to a complete stop, and

The applicant has safely exited the vehicle and properly closed the door from the outside.

WHAT THE EXAMINER WILL ASSESS
During the road test, the examiner will evaluate your ability to:

Apply correct observation techniques.

Use mirrors effectively.

Signal correctly and in good time.

Maintain proper lane discipline.

Obey road signs, road markings, and traffic signals.

Demonstrate safe speed management.

Maintain safe following distances.

Execute lane changes correctly.

Approach and negotiate intersections safely.

Apply clutch, brake, accelerator, and steering control smoothly.

React appropriately to hazards and changing traffic conditions.

Perform emergency procedures when instructed.
