Procedure When Passing an Off-Ramp or On-Ramp.
You will be penalised for not checking the blind spots when passing an OFF or ON RAMP.

1. Check the Right Blind Spot.
Before passing an off-ramp, quickly check the blind spot to the right.
Be alert for:

Vehicles suddenly moving into your lane to reach an exit.

Drivers who realize they are about to miss their off-ramp.

Motorcycles travelling alongside your vehicle.

Vehicles changing lanes without adequate warning.
A right blind spot check helps you identify potential hazards that may not be visible in your mirrors.

2. Check the Left Blind Spot.
Check the blind spot to the left for vehicles that may be re-entering the freeway or crossing the painted island area.
Be alert for:

Vehicles attempting to return to the freeway after entering an exit lane by mistake.

Drivers crossing prohibited painted islands.

Fast-moving vehicles changing lanes unexpectedly.

Motorcycles travelling between lanes.
A left blind spot check ensures you are aware of any vehicle that could move into your path unexpectedly.
